Su Blackwell

This woman is incredible!

I have seen her work before but it seems to be everywhere at the moment and rightly so.

Su Blackwell is based in the UK and has produced amazing paper art.

I would love to do similar work, I might just need to start experimenting with some old children's books!

Love is a four letter word

You can't be serious are a Brisbane based couple who create amazing photography and film.
Their work is so full of colour, fun and joy. It's so inspiring.

This film is the best thing I've seen for ages.

Etsy time!

I have created an Etsy shop of my very own! I'm not quite ready to share it yet, I want to make sure I am completely happy with it before I let it loose on the world. It is lots and lots of fun and I am having a great time making cards, designing banners, listing items!

Melbourne I love you but your weather is bringing me down

I surprised my boyfriend with a visit to Melbourne to see his best friend for his birthday on the weekend.

It was insanely cold but Saturday turned out to at least be bright and sunny so we could get out and explore. We spent most of our time in Fitzroy and Brunswick. I love this town.

I think of you in colours that don't exist

I have ventured into cards which are lots of fun to make!
Loving the bright summery colours (pity it's not feeling like summer here right now).

Sneak peek at a work in progress.

I've also taken to just cutting out beautiful words when I need inspiration.

Suitcase Rummage

Laura and I rummaged today. I had a really lovely day, we were under cover on the terrace which was lucky as it drizzled all day. I made a bit of money (about half my speeding ticket!) and chatted to some nice people.
It was lovely to just sit with Lau and Ash, Sarah and Julia all dropped in for a visit.
I only sold 3 pieces of art which I was a bit disappointed with but it really isn't the best place for it. Everyone is there just on the lookout for bargains and not really to buy art. The 3 I did sell all went to really lovely girls (one of whom was Julia so I already knew she was lovely). The first one I sold was to a girl who bought 'You are fucking amazing' for her best friend for Christmas. Julia bought 'You and me' to hang up in her and her lovely boyfriend's bedroom and the third girl had a bird tattoo in exactly the same spot as me and I chatted to her for awhile then she bought my tree and flowers in the white shadow box. It's so nice knowing they are going to good homes.

Laura bought me the cutest bicycle stamp in America which was perfect timing for me to make my tags. I used pages from a tiny Shakespeare book and they were very cute.

I made a couple of new pieces yesterday.

All packed and ready to go!

Mine and Laura's suitcases.

I really enjoyed spending the day with Lau. We ate sushi, strawberries and macaroon's.

Sarah and her adorable headband.

So I am happy with how today went but I think I definitely want to refine some of my paper cuttings and try Bris-style or some of the other markets around town.
I will definitely still be at Rummage for the next few months though, perfect place to hang out, sell some art, sell some clothes and make some cash!
